About Woodruffs
Woodruffs Organic Café in Stroud, Gloucestershire, was established in February 1998 by Helen & James Wace, and was Britain’s first totally organic café. Their vision was to create a comfortable and affordable place to eat, which guaranteed 100% organic produce.

Holly Puttock, Manageress & current owner of Woodruffs began working at the cafe in 1998 for previous owners. In 2003 Holly bought the business & was joined by Head Chef Erin Baker in 2006.
Their combined talents have taken Woodruffs from strength to strength, while continuing to supply an accessible menu based on high quality organic whole food.
The Victorian period building that is home to Woodruffs is spread over two floors. There’s seating downstairs near the counter, which displays a range of our delicious cakes and sweets, as well as some tables outside, for when the weather permits.
Upstairs is a large tea room with period features, overlooking the high street and gorgeous Cotswold countryside, as well as a smaller family room, with high chairs and a safe area complete with wooden toys. The upstairs bathroom has baby changing facilities. Both rooms are available for hire for parties, meetings, groups or workshops. Baby changing facilities are available in the upstairs restroom.
Our menu is full of fresh organic produce and wholefoods from local suppliers wherever possible. With the exception of smoked tuna & mackerel pate (provided by a local family business) our menu is solely vegetarian and as local and seasonal as possible, with many options for those with special diets. All dishes are prepared on the premises by our team of professional & extremely creative chefs.
